Which Cruise Should We Take?

We are planning to go on a cruise but we are not sure which one we should take. I am meeting up with a friend for lunch today who is going to tell me all about Cruising with Holland America. We have never used them but I have heard good things. I would love to hear more before we make our decision. We are trying to take a cruise every other year but last year we couldn’t do one. It is time to make up for it this year. We would like to be on the boat for about 12 days and see a lot of great things. We are thinking of going over to Europe and cruising over there but not quite sure of all the costs. We want to make sure that we will like this cruise line. I am anxious to hear what my friend has to say. I know she did have a great time on her cruise.

Skagway Gold Panning Adventures

If you are planning on going to Alaska for a cruise any time soon, then you are likely to be stopping in the historic gold rush town of Skagway.

Skagway gold panning is one of the most popular things to do in town, apart from train rides into the Yukon Territory on the Whites Pass scenic railway.

To pan for gold, you can either take a bit of a ride to an old mining area for a mock-up panning exhibit, or, if you have kids and want to avoid the ride, you can stop in at the Gold Digger Mine & Dine right in the center of town and pan for real gold in troughs.

Panning is ever-popular with the kids, so if you are brining your brood along with you, it’s a great way to spend your time on shore while also letting the kids learn a bit of their own history in the process.

Mediterranean Cruises 2012

There is an interesting shift in the Mediterranean cruises 2012 passenger profile that I see continuing. People living in the eastern United States seem to be gravitating away from the most popular destination, which for years has been the Caribbean. What is puzzling about this is there seems to be no decline in that market segment. It seems quite odd since most of the major cruise lines continue to increase the number of itineraries that serve the market. What I am trying to convey is that there is no decline in the Caribbean cruise market and demand for Mediterranean cruise continues its record growth. Some this begs the question of who is losing business for the sake of this shift to the Med? You would think that one of the leading voices in the cruise market would have the answer but I do not. The traffic that I see using various tools are the most state of the art available and I must trust the data that it supplies based upon my parameters. I still cannot figure out for the life of me what type of holidays they were taking in previous years. You will want to stay tuned for the answers as for the next few weeks the Mediterranean cruise 2012 season will probably be my main point of interest.

All Inclusive Cruises Including Alcohol

With my ongoing voyage to provide my readers with thought provoking commentary I turn again to my ever evolving search for those elusive and perhaps mythical all inclusive cruises including alcohol. As a well regarded travel writer specializing in the cruses market segment, most of my waking hours devoted to my craft and hard charging writing style that excites and sometimes angers my loyal followers. If there were some method to file a grievance against unscrupulous travel agents that tell potential clients they are going on an all inclusive cruise I would have done so long ago. Granted there are an elite group of cruise lines that offer nearly all inclusive cruise packages. They do list alcohol being included on the price but it is a steep one. In the end you will pay much more for your cruise than if you just stay with large scale cruise lines and just pay the additional cost upon your departure. It is as simple as that. Besides, you want to enjoy the cruise and not spend most of your time being intoxicated.
